Step 01
1. The Blown-Film Extrusion Process
The production of poly bags begins with the blown-film extrusion process, which involves several key steps:
- First, small plastic pellets, known as resin, are heated and melted until they become soft and flexible.
- Next, the molten resin is forced through a circular die to create a continuous tube of plastic. This tube is then pinched off at one end and inflated, expanding it to the required size and thickness for the final product.
- The inflated plastic bubble is then guided up a vertical tower to cool, after which it is flattened and wound onto a roll.
- Once on the roll, the plastic can be processed into various forms, such as tubing, single-wound sheeting, or centerfold sheeting. Typically, we use this plastic to produce poly bags.
